Simi Valley is a Ventura County city on Clean Power Alliance, with Southern California Edison delivering the power and connecting rooftop systems. Qualifying rooftop solar is approved by the SolarAPP+ software before the city's portal issues the permit: the software approved a 12.8 kW plan set of ours in minutes, and Cali Energy installed that array with a 225-amp service upgrade in July 2022. Six systems in Simi Valley's two ZIP codes report to our monitoring, four of them for more than five years, and we service solar and install car chargers here as well.
A qualifying panel upgrade in Simi Valley goes on a city express permit that the contractor self-issues on the spot. On our October 2022 job the city routed the application onto that permit the same day, and the new main panel passed its field inspection that November before SCE reconnected the house.

On our backup-panel project the battery's 40-amp continuous output went to the fridge and freezer, the furnace, the water heater and the internet, while the 50-amp stove stayed on the main panel; the system was switched on in November 2023.
