Tesla Powerwall installation by a certified installer
Cali Energy is a Tesla Powerwall Certified Installer based in Northridge. We install Powerwall across Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley, in Burbank, Glendale, Calabasas, Simi Valley and Santa Clarita, with new solar or beside a system you already have, and carry it through the city permit and the utility's storage approval.
A Powerwall 3 stores 13.5 kWh. Making it work for your house means deciding what it backs up, mounting it where the fire code and Tesla's manual allow, wiring it into your main panel, and getting the utility's storage approval after the city's final inspection. Cali Energy installs Powerwall across Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley as a Tesla Powerwall Certified Installer; in San Fernando a Powerwall went in with a 22-module Enphase array, joined it on the AC side and now stores the afternoon's solar for the evening.

Powerwall with new solar or beside an existing system
- With new solar, the Powerwall is designed into the system from the first drawing: what it backs up, where it hangs, and how it connects to the main panel. In San Fernando the Powerwall bracket went on the patio wall before the 22-module Enphase array went on the roof, and the battery joined the microinverters on the AC side.
- Beside a system you already have, the Powerwall goes in as its own project, with its own permit and the utility's storage approval.
What it backs up
One Powerwall 3 holds 13.5 kWh. The continuous output decides which circuits it can carry at once, and we set the backup around it: either the whole house, or the circuits that matter on a backup panel. Whole home or the circuits that matter
How a Powerwall installation runs
- Site visit. Main panel, meter, the wall for the Powerwall, and the circuits you want running in an outage.
- Design. Number of Powerwalls, backup scope, and placement with clearances drawn on the plans.
- Permit with LADBS or your city, and plan check answered.
- Installation under our C-10 electrical license. In San Fernando the bracket went up first thing in the morning, and the Powerwall and array were in place the next morning.
- Inspection and utility approval. After the city's final, the utility approves the storage on its own track.
- Commissioning. Backup reserve set, the Tesla app connected, and a walk-through of what runs when the grid goes down.

- Southern California Edison: fire weather can bring PSPS shutoffs, and the state's SGIP incentive takes 2026 applications only in its income-qualified tier for new solar with storage. SGIP in 2026

A Powerwall on the wall, 22 modules on four sections of roof
A Tesla Powerwall on the patio wall beside an Enphase combiner, with 22 modules on four sections of roof, in place by the morning after work began and storing the afternoon's solar for the evening.
The battery gives you forty amps. The stove wanted fifty.
A backup panel sized to a 40-amp battery output: refrigerator, freezer, furnace, water heater and internet stay on in an outage.
Santa Clarita: the batteries came out of the garage.
Four battery units for whole-home backup on an exterior wall, running since permission to operate in January 2025.
What moves the price
- How many Powerwalls, and whether they back up the whole house or a backup panel.
- The main panel, and whether it needs an upgrade. Main panel upgrades
- Where the Powerwall is mounted and the run to the main panel.

Is Cali Energy a Tesla Powerwall Certified Installer?
Yes. Cali Energy is a Tesla Powerwall Certified Installer and installs Powerwall across Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley, in Burbank, Glendale, Calabasas, Simi Valley and Santa Clarita, with the design, permit and utility approval. CSLB #1032379, based in Northridge; call +1-323-844-7777.
Can a Powerwall be added to the solar I already have?
Yes, as its own project with its own permit and the utility's storage approval. On a microinverter system the Powerwall joins on the AC side, as it did in San Fernando beside the Enphase array we installed with it, which now stores the afternoon's solar for the evening.
How much does a Powerwall 3 store?
One Powerwall 3 stores 13.5 kWh. How long that lasts in an outage depends on what it backs up; a backup panel with the essentials stretches it further than the whole house. Powerwall vs Enphase vs FranklinWH
Do I need a new main panel for a Powerwall?
Sometimes. The service has to accept the battery's connection, and the site visit settles it. Main panel upgrades
