Solar panel repair and service in Simi Valley, CA

Cali Energy repairs and services home solar in Simi Valley: failed inverters, systems that stopped producing or reporting, module and microinverter warranty claims, and systems another company installed. Thirteen of our projects are in Simi Valley's two ZIP codes, six Simi Valley systems are under our monitoring, and our own crews come from Northridge, over the pass.

Simi Valley's solar is reaching service age: SCE approved 3,684 residential systems here in 2021–2023, which are now in their third to fifth year. Cali Energy takes service calls across Simi Valley, reads the monitoring data and the SCE meter before dispatching a crew, handles the manufacturer's warranty case and fits the replacement. Across 14 of Cali Energy's inverter replacements on Los Angeles-area systems, output came back to a median 99% of each system's earlier level.

Solar service in Simi Valley

  • Our systems here. Thirteen Cali Energy projects in ZIP codes 93063 and 93065; six Simi Valley systems under our monitoring, four of them running for more than five years. Our four Enphase-monitored Simi Valley systems averaged 1,455 kWh per kW in 2025, which is the benchmark we read a Simi Valley service call against.
  • A city of systems coming due. SCE approved 874 residential solar systems in Simi Valley in 2021, 1,553 in 2022 and 1,257 in 2023. Inverters and communications hardware age on their own clocks, and the first service calls on those systems are arriving now.
  • Who permits a repair. A like-for-like inverter swap is service work. Where the repair changes the service or the system, the City of Simi Valley issues the electrical permit and SCE reviews the change.
  • Systems whose installer is gone. We start from the paperwork that lets anyone pick a system up: the permit, the approved plans, the SCE interconnection agreement, the permission-to-operate notice and the equipment list.

What we repair

Inverters. We open the warranty case, get the replacement approved and shipped, fit it and commission it. On a SolarEdge system the new inverter pairs with every optimizer before it produces; on an Enphase system a failed microinverter is replaced under the modules. Across the 14 of Cali Energy's inverter replacements with a dated first report, on Los Angeles-area systems from 2020 to 2026, the new inverter appeared in monitoring a median 16 days later. Systems that stopped reporting. Before anyone is dispatched we read the monitoring history and the SCE meter: exports on a sunny afternoon mean the panels are producing and only the reporting is down. Solar app offline or showing an alert?

Warranty claims. Module and microinverter claims are decided on evidence: photos of the failure, the serial number of each affected module, and the manufacturer's claim form. We assemble the file and see it through.

Systems another company installed. Over the pass in Porter Ranch we took a service call on a system someone else installed that shut down after heavy rain, read the symptom as water ingress rather than a failed component, and opened, checked and photographed every junction box and connector under the array.

How a service call runs from Northridge

  1. Tell us what you see. A screenshot of the app, the error code on the inverter, a recent SCE bill.
  2. We read the data first. Monitoring history and the meter show whether the system is down or only the reporting is.
  3. Diagnosis on site under our C-10 electrical license: inverter, optimizers or microinverters, connectors, breakers and the service connection.
  4. Warranty case with the manufacturer, replacement shipped, failed part returned.
  5. Repair and commissioning, and production confirmed in the app before we close the call.

My Simi Valley solar installer has closed. Can you take over the system?

Yes. We start from the permit, the approved plans, the SCE interconnection agreement, the permission-to-operate notice and the equipment list, then diagnose and repair what the system needs. Module and inverter warranties belong to the equipment, so they stay in force when the installer has closed.

How much should a Simi Valley system produce?

Our four Enphase-monitored Simi Valley systems averaged 1,455 kWh per kW in 2025, and the 14 homes we monitor across Agoura, Calabasas, Thousand Oaks and Simi Valley made a median 1,410 kWh per kW a year in 2023–2025. A system well below that over several months is worth a service call.
