Solar panel installation in Arleta, CA

Cali Energy installs solar panels in Arleta. On the Arleta roof we have written up, from January 2025, both planes were set out in chalk, rafter lines, rail lines and every flashing, before the first hole was drilled, and the array went on the same day with a microinverter under each module.

Arleta belongs to the City of Los Angeles: LADBS for the permits, LADWP for the grid connection. It shares ZIP code 91331 with Pacoima, and 91331's default postal name is Pacoima, so an Arleta house can be addressed either way without changing the permit office or the utility. Cali Energy, a licensed solar company (CSLB #1032379), installs solar panels in Arleta and in Pacoima next door, where nine more of our projects are written up.

Our Arleta project

All-black solar modules installed across a composition shingle plane with neighboring rooftops beyond, Arleta, Los Angeles
Arleta, CA · January 2025 · LADWP / LADBS

Chalk lines on an Arleta roof, before a single hole.

Two roof planes set out in chalk with a flashing at every attachment point, then all-black modules on microinverters and a combiner beside the existing meter; installed on 30 January 2025.

An Arleta array set out before it is drilled

On our Arleta roof the rafter lines were found and chalked, the rail lines snapped square across both planes, the fire setbacks taken from the ridge and the roof edges, and a flashing plate laid at every attachment point, so the whole array could be checked while moving it still cost nothing. Each attachment then went into a rafter with its flashing slid under the course above. With a microinverter under every module, the wall needed only a combiner and an AC disconnect next to the meter and panel already there, not a large inverter.

Arleta questions

Does Cali Energy install solar panels in Arleta?

Yes. Our January 2025 Arleta installation is written up as a case study, and nine more of our projects are in Pacoima, which shares Arleta's ZIP code. We take the permit from LADBS, file with LADWP and install the solar panels. CSLB #1032379 · 19201 Parthenia St, Northridge · +1-323-844-7777.

My Arleta address says Pacoima. Does that change anything?

No. Arleta and Pacoima are both in the City of Los Angeles, so the permit comes from LADBS and the connection from LADWP under either name.

Does the house need a big inverter on the wall?

Not on our Arleta house: with a microinverter under each module, the wall carries a combiner and an AC disconnect next to the existing meter.

How was the layout checked before drilling?

On our Arleta roof, with chalk: rafter lines, rail lines and the fire setbacks marked on both planes, and every flashing laid in place before the first hole.

Planning solar in Arleta?

Photos of both roof planes and your last LADWP bill are enough for a first layout. If the address reads Pacoima, that is fine: the permit office and the utility stay the same.
