Home battery installation in Glendale, CA
Cali Energy installs home batteries in Glendale with new solar or added to a system you already have. On our Glendale project the solar went on in December 2025 and the battery followed in May 2026, with a dedicated backup panel carrying seven circuits, from the refrigerator to the office.
In Glendale a battery added after solar is a project of its own: its own plan set and permit with the City of Glendale, its own final, and its own energy-storage permission from Glendale Water & Power. The design work is choosing which circuits the battery carries when the grid is down and wiring them to a backup panel. On our Glendale project the battery went in on 6 May 2026, the city's storage final passed on 15 May, and GWP released the storage on 21 May.

A battery after the solar
A battery does not have to be bought with the array. On our Glendale project the solar reached permission to operate on 6 January 2026, and the battery came four months later as a project of its own. The battery and its backup interface went on the same outside wall, in line with the existing inverter, and the new conduit was routed around the window frame to match the December work. Choosing the circuits
A backup panel holds the circuits the battery carries in an outage, and the rest stay on the grid. On our Glendale project we worked them out with the owner, seven in all: the refrigerator, the kitchen outlets, the microwave, the family room, the living room, the office and the garage. They were moved to a dedicated backup panel, so the battery's output goes to what the household uses in an outage. Whole home or the circuits that matter
Three steps to switch-on
- The plan set and permit from the City of Glendale, in hand on 4 May 2026.
- The city's final for the energy storage, passed on 15 May.
- Glendale Water & Power's storage permission, given on 21 May after the utility's inspection, with our photographs of the completed storage.
