A solar system is not finished at permission to operate. On a Northridge system we installed in 2020, the monitoring gateway dropped off the network when the household changed its internet and was reconnected, and a microinverter failed within its warranty term; the claim was approved and the replacement authorized. When a system does not work as it should, the array is not the only place to look. On a Northridge house with an array another company had designed, permitted and built, we took the job on as a remediation with a written scope: the service behind the array. A new main panel to carry the array and the house, a new 200-amp sub-panel, the wiring between them redone to the plans the city had approved, and conduit relocated or replaced.
